Correct. Not a surprise though given the history of massive PRs in Dubai.

That was one epic race by a no-name (ish) guy. Epic.

No, he caught a glimpse of the clock. Knew there'd be no record from the mile split. I'd be angry too. great race!

Oh, you mean a sari ?!
Do you have any idea of the ethnic make up of Dubai ?
Hint - there are lots and lots of Indians here. I'm pretty good spotting Indian women, thanks. Even wearing bun huggers and fanny packs.
Since it's written in a different alphabet, it can be spelled on different ways. I thought "ee" would be more clear for the plural. Yes I am aware that there are some Indians in Dubai. But identifying them from across the road going in the opposite direction... I was/am skeptical. Are you not just taking a cheap shot at them? Do you have really sharp eyes? Okay, good eye, man.

Wow, Hayle put a huge gap on Desisa in seconds.
Hi agip.
whoops
Women's race, we've got CR holder Aselefech Mergia (first marathon since 2012), world half champ Gladys Cherono and Lucy Kabuu, who has run 2:19:34 and finished three secs behind Mergia when she set the CR in 2012.
This is Cherono (kiprono on her bib)'s debut.

So Vail can go run Dubai and become a 2:06 guy?

I think it only works if you're Ethiopian =)
42K was done in 2:45, what a finish!
Was that Worku around 2:07:00 who ran the Houston marathon on Sunday?? Or possibly DNF'ed Houston.
What shoe is Hayle wearing? Adios or Energy? something else?

Worku was supposed to run Houston and was on the entry list. But I don't think he raced it at all and instead ran Dubai. It annoyed me because I wrote the preview thinking he was in Houston.

those women are grinding away. the kenyan in 2nd is waiting.
Nice finish, not seen that elsewhere but Canova told French newspaper L'Equipe yesterday that Bekele had an Achille's injury at Christmas (Google translation)
- I'm happy with his preparation considering the problems he faced . Inflammation of an Achilles tendon. Until mid-December, he gave up on several sessions. Arriving in Addis Ababa, I immediately called TECAR , a company specializing in the treatment of the pain ( with which collaborates Lavillenie ) , who sent us the right machine and best technician. After seven days of intense treatment , Kenenisa was training while reducing pain and inflammation. His tendon is not perfect, but a performance around 2 hours 4 ' seems possible. For the world record , it would be possible next year, even if Kenenisa is thinking of focusing on the Olympics.
WOW!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
