Shannon ran 2:40 for 1000m and then 4:27 for a mile within 1 hour at U of Washington.

I feel like you were going to include "With conditions of X, Y, and Z and pacing for only about 60% since they alternated leads... what do you think she could run for a rested open mile?"
very strong performance. I think that the American records are low 2:30s and maybe 4:19-21. Sounds like she is preparing for an assault on the American indoor record at 3k/2M again.

Looks strong.. Maybe a fast 3000m (sub 8:40)
Hasay right on her heels in both- maybe more impressive as she is below her events.
Ephraimason was a no-show?
How did Jager v. Centro play out?
Centro 2:19 and Jager 2:20 Centro led the entire race
Hearing splits of 2:17-2:10 on that mile as well, very impressive.

Hasay was equally impressive. She was right there. She just didn't have the closing speed of Rowbury. Not bad at all for a 10k runner.

And barely off her mile pr she set last year. Looks ready to go 4:24-4:25 after this rust buster. Another big breakthrough year on its way.
2015 is off to a good start for the Mile!

U.S. Indoor Mile Record
4:20.5 Mary Slaney (OR) San Diego, CA 02/19/82
Badass performance!
Miss Rowbury you are beautifuuuuuuuuuul!!!!!!
Gonna be another great year of middle/long distance racing!
Perhaps, though Slaney ran 4:20 on a 10-11 lap/mile board track, not an oversized 300 meter track with wide, gentle turns.

And, more importantly, no out of competition testing.
These are the results I was expecting from Shannon after her move to Alberto, and what I have been and will continue to expect from Jordan with her development. I know NOP gets a lot of flack on these boards for various reasons, but no one can argue that Alberto and his staff get results.
I was a HUGE fan of John Cook and all his athletes and when he retired and Shannon had to find a new group, I was disappointed but immediately excited to see what something different would produce for her. A change in training can do amazing things (as I think 2014 showed for her) and I felt she made a good decision going to Oregon. Last winter she was dealing with some slight injuries so I can't wait to see what she produces this year being healthy and obviously fit now.
I do think this result is more spiriting for Hasay. As another poster mentioned this is closer to her PR and really signifies some strength to match a seasoned and older racer in Rowbury. Not withstanding all the blows coming from the LR crowd, I for one am very excited for 2015.
Saw the races in person. Rowbury was all business. In control, strong, fit and in perfect form with no strain or sign of fatigue. That was not a hard effort for her.
She seems very focused and on a mission. Can't wait to follow her races this year
Probably few of you subscribe to TaFNews, but she had an interview in there in the last 2 months and she said that she was targeting the outdoor ARs at 1500, mile, 3k and 5k.
I don't see any reason she wouldn't shoot for the indoor ones as well.
For the outdoor marks, she is farthest away in the 3k (1.85 per km) and the closest in the 5k (1.21 per km).
Good luck to her!! The US has a lot of riches right now in the 800m-10k. People you can look up to in the middle-distances and distances like Huddle, Simpson, Rowbury, Hasay, Coburn several LD-runners and a whole raft of 800/1500m runners.
She also discussed how she had played soccer and done competitive Irish Dancing. She felt that the Irish dancing played a big role in developing her running. It surprises me, but what do I know?
Apparently, she already hold the 2 mile AR outdoors.

Good attitude. I hope this means that she will be setting her own pace.
