I've been posting Runner's World covers. Since there were 539 published it will take me a little while. If there is one in particular you would like to see let me know and I'll get that one on next.

Wow, back in the day RW featured athletes rather than models.
RW covers...subscription RW covers?
Back in the seventies (1970's) RW had outstanding cover fotos of California x-c meets.
Simply outstanding.

Patti... I remember having a subscription back in the day, and probably have a bunch of those old ones up in the attic, but don't remember if you ever made a cover. Did you?
Dave
I made one cover. The first subscribers issue, didn't make the stores.
Margaret Groos
Nice work. I still have box loads of my old Runner's World magazines.
Since I saw the name Patti the first name I could remember was Patti Catalano so I added the July 1981 cover with PC on the cover.
Margaret Groos, RW October 1988, has been added. Great suggestion.
several pics were of ''college roommate" and close friend - no ceegar for me on these. but others I was 'inside the covers' but not a focus of anything. I will say the one of Shorter and Bachelor in the mud was the same race depicted on TFN with them jubilantly pointing at their 5th man (Galloway) heading for finish. They were convinced they had won those AAU champs but got 2nd to PCC.
Lots of pleasant memories here
I had this RW cover of Biily Rodgers taped to my bedroom wall. An early source of inspiration...

yup! That's me.
I have finished adding more from the '60s and the rest of 1971 & 1974

Define "athlete".
To me, someone who's as SCRAWNY as a stick does not qualify as an athlete.
Someone who has big MUSCLES is not an athlete to you?
You need a reality check, moron.

What I think he meant was that they put real, national and world class runners on their covers.
You need a reality check on what qualifies as an athlete.

Who wants to see that?
FACT: A cover with a CrossFit fitness model sells better than a cover with Gallen Rup or Kim Smiths.

FACT: STFU little troll
I actually like that they now use models instead of runners. I am exposed to runners all the time - there is nothing wrong with wanting to see a bit more muscular types on the magazine covers - something to admire *giggle*.
