Hi everyone,
I am a 29yr old long distance runner coming from Malta. Have been running for circa 3 years in total and shall be running a spring marathon in 2015.
Was wondering whether I can run a sub 2:40 marathon so I decided to write a post on this running site.
Achievements ran this month are the following:
5k - 17'12" (no speed work, just marathon training)
10k - 35'45" (during training)
15k - 55'10"
25k - 1:34'40"
I managed to build up to 30k running them in circa 2:04/5 quite at comfort and ease, however more it seems that I am beginning to crack. One main problem I have is mileage. I seem not to be able to increase my mileage to 110/120k in one week. I know that most experts recommend 100 mile weeks (160k).
I was targeting to run either Vienna/Rotterdam marathon 1st/2nd week of April. Apart from these, anyone might suggest any flat and fast routes which are being held during this month?
Do you think that by then and with the above times achieved I can run a sub 2:40 marathon?
