I have been focusing on running for the last 3-4 years. I am 5'11" and 150 lbs and currently in close to PR shape (all times were run during 2014).
Conversely, I have not touched weights since high school. I do 4 sets of 50 pushups (perfect form, slow on the way down, one second pause at the bottom, explode on the way up) and 15 minutes of abs everyday. That is it for "strength training" though.
Anyways, I was just on vacation and the resort I was staying in had a nice gym. I decided to hit the weights for s*its and giggles. I did 4 sets of 8 with 185 lbs on the bench. The next day, I was able to complete 3 sets of 10 squats using 225 lbs (parallel to the ground, naturally). I took 75 seconds between sets for both exercises.
Am I more talented in the weight room? Is it time to switch hobbies?
