I've known a few guys who asked girls to marry them and got turned down. All but one were pretty dumb stories as it was clear to anyone but them the girl was going to say no. I'm hoping some guys here can give some real stories and share their sorrows. Whatcha got?
My wife is a twin. I started dating her sister, I asked the sister to marry me, she said no, after which I started dating my wife, who did said yes. We've been married 5 years. I never loved my wife but married her because I am, and will always be, in love with her sister, who I think about all of the time, and especially every time I sleep with my wife, which I have done at least once a day, every day for over 5 years. I essentially live my life pretending I'm married to my wife's twin sister. It's not ideal, but it works for me and it's actually pretty good, except at family dinners etc. where I am confronted with the the reality that I live a lie. But, I figure most people live a life which is an invention in their head, where reality is a concept, a perception tainted by the twists and turns of hormones and the firing of neurons, where "what is real" an unanswerable truth, and so I kiss my wife and remain, in my mind, married and utterly devoted to her sister.
