First Lady Michelle Obama claims racism because she had to get something off the shelf

Actually, I'm a victim of racism because I, as a tall white person, frequently asked to get things off the shelf in stores.

She didn't actually say anything about racism, but the context of the conversation makes you infer that she's charging racism.

Here is the actual People Magazine Article titled - "The Obamas: How We Deal with Our Own Racist Experiences"

It's fair to infer that all quotes within the article (as it is very short) have to do with racism that they have faced based on the title of the article.

I am not really sure how she thinks any of that is racist either by the other shopper or the fact that no other shoppers came up to her but apparently she did. Unfortunately, People did not post the video of the interview (from what I have seen) so the article is the best we can do.

Michelle Obama said she’s had her share of racial slights as well.

I'm glad to finally see the 2 stories side by side. In 2012 Mrs. Obama even mentions that the lady asked her to get the item because she was too short. Now, 2 years later, she is calling it racism.

I have no doubt that many black people face real racism everyday. But, this isn't it. The only thing Obama's story does is encourage blacks to see racism where none exists. Then the REAL racism gets over looked.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what she means about the cabs.

Is she implying, that all the cab drivers that passed her by were white? Arab? Black from other countries?

How can she specifically tell us why it was racism that caused the cabs to pass her by?

This quote doesn't fit in the article unless she is claiming racism that she has faced in that situation.
