To everyone who says 'moderation' I just just mention the new Canada food guide. Where they spell it out very clearly. Moderation is now no more than 1/8th of your plate should be animal products and oils aren't food. If you're gonna eat a whole chicken leg then ud better eat 3 large potatoes. 3 slices of bread. And a 3 cups of cooked kale and spinach with that. Otherwise you're not eating a well balanced meal.
Avoid refined oils, animal flesh and their secretions, and nuts and seeds and avacados. Too much grease.
Only thing worse for you than constantly having grease in the blood is missing calories. So focus on eating starchy foods. Grains, beans, potatoes. Garnish with cooked greens.
Chilli served with bread. Pasta with a marinara or lentil ragut. Hummus and pita. Tofu, rice and sweet potato teriyaki. Toast with jam. Banana pancakes. Mashed potatoes. Rice and potatoes and peas masala. Piles of fruit.
Sprinkle frozen pre cooked greens on everything. They blanch (dip into boiling water momentarily) veggies before freezing them. Washes the field worker slaves poopies off nicely. No ecoli for this guy so I'll pass on the Romain lettuce salads thanks. No calories anyways. The ultimate junk food.
Do a calorie check once in a while. If you're lacking add a little grease to your diet. (Do less miles? That's crazy) My favs are donuts, pie, fries, oily chow mein, a pnut butter sandwich. Some sorta store bought greasy sauce/dip/mayo. Arguably these things are worse than a bit of chicken. And they're right. I just lost the taste for it. I eat junk during peak weeks where I'm over 60mpw and after long runs. So once or twice a week.
Don't forget to eat a handful of walnuts everyday for ur essential omega3.
Don't even worry about proteins. As long as you're eating most of ur calories via real food you won't be missing. If meat made muscle, everyone would be swole. Instead their fat cells got swole.
