The fact that he's getting right back to a marathon, and is really targeting one that has produced fast times tells me he thinks Chicago was just an off day, and that he recovered well. Time to renew the debate over whether Bekele is past his prime, and not capable of challenging the new generation of top marathon specialists, or if he really is good enough to challenge/beat the low 2:04/sub 2:04 guys. I predict new ETH record.
How close will Renato be in his prediction? Or is Bekele "just another east african" (in the marathon) at this point in his career? We will see soon. Not the final answer, but an informative one it will be.
