Grant Fisher and Ritz are 2 of the best

No need to put down the other runners in the race (and really, putting down 2-time Olympian, AR holder, and 3:53 HS and 3:46 miler Alan Webb is just stupid, as is putting down an NCAA champ in Sage).Fisher ran a great race and comfortably beat a group of some of the greatest high school athletes in a decade. He's not arrogant about it and neither should his fans.

This same attitude was prominent back during Ritz's time. When Ritz was a Junior all of the slappys thought that Don Sage was the man to beat until Ritz buried him. The next year Webb was unbeatable according to all of the rednecks in the South. Ritz destroyed him as well.

I am so happy that our sport has a judgement day and predictions don't mean a thing.

Not putting down Webb or Sage. Just putting down those that thought that either of them stood a chance against Ritz in High School Cross-Country.

You can see how frustrated the Webb supporters get trying to compare the two.

Webb was a far better miler. He also was a far better swimmer. However, he was Ritz's biotch when it cam to Cross.

Frustrating isn't it?

Much like those that thought anyone stood a chance against Grant this weekend.

Is 2 High School Cross Country Championship wins, a 3rd at World Junior XC, and a 5k 13 seconds slower than the Olympic B standard better than a FIFTH PLACE FINISH at the PROFESSIONAL Prefontaine Invitational, only behind two 3:26 guys, a 3:46 guy, and a Moroccan?

It is clear from the way you described Ritz's accomplishments and Webb's accomplishments that you have some sort of bias.

If you're going to describe the 2001 Pre Classic that way, you should do the same for the big races Ritz won (2 of which Webb took part in by the way).

Fisher is no comparison to how Ritz was in high school and anyone who thinks such a thing is an idiot.

RIGHT

Fisher hasn't proved that he is one of the all time best. Just because you won races upon races upon races doesn't necessarily mean you're something special.

Grant is one of the smartest high school runners EVER, but

you relate champions based on time, therefore fisher doesn't have much credibility on the XC course.
