Nice job man! I have my debut race tomorrow. I've been training pretty hard, sitting pretty at 25 miles per week for most of last week. (ran 3.5 miles on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, so for the majority of the week I was running what 25 miles per week would be if I ran every day.) I threw in a fartlek the week before, but I don't understand how practicing farting while running makes me faster in a race; probably some kind of extra-propulsion thing? I started my taper on Sunday when I was watching the Giants-Cowboys game, and haven't gotten out of my recliner since then so I'll be super rested for tomorrow's big race! I'm going to race for a win and not worry about time, but I'm not going to be too upset if I only get 2nd or 3rd in my first race.

Congratulations! But a word of warning from someone who has been there before. Make sure you recover properly, otherwise you'll lose all that fitness. And while the fanny pack is absolutely necessary, remember that it can place a strain on the lumbar vertebrae, so get a massage on your lower back. Keep us updated when you reach the Big 1.0!
Nice! I finished right outside of the podium a few years ago in my age division local .5k. I think the cross fit style sprint repeats helped a lot. You haven't been in pain until you've experienced 40 second 200m repeats. A few of those and I'm spent. I think I've been having some fueling and fluid intake issues though so not sure about that? Tips??
Also does the walk of shame count to my mileage?

I don't think they sell the car stickers, but you should definitely modify a 5k sticker by adding the "." to it.
