If you have qualified for the Boston Marathon....congratulations!
Medicines for Humanity is a non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated to saving the lives of children in impoverished communities worldwide. We are looking for qualified runners who do not want all the pressure of fundraising but still want their marathon race to help others...in this case...some of the world's most vulnerable children.
Our approach is a little different than most other organizations - here's how it works:
- You agree to run for "Team MFH"
- MFH will pay (reimburse) your $175 registration fee
- Veteran running coach Jim Doyle will be available to all Team MFH members for training advice, Marathon tips and general support
- MFH will provide a Team MFH singlet to wear on race day
- You provide MFH with a list of at least 50 contacts who might support you
- There is no minimum amount you are required to raise
- MFH writes a letter to your contacts asking them to support you
- You approve the letter and add a short personal note on each one (i.e. “Hope you will consider supporting me!”)
- MFH will email or send the letters to the contacts, write thank you notes,
and keep you posted on all donations from your contacts.
Please help us save innocent lives when you run The Boston Marathon.
