This is correct. Either follow it, or don't.
The internet has created a world were everybody thinks they know everything because they can Google it. It gives them an arrogance that they know better. The truth is people do know a lot more (surface) information about many more things, but lack a real depth of understanding of most of what they think they know. Jack of all trades master of none. We live in a surface level world that masks extreme ignorance.
It's ok to trust the opinion of someone who has spent a great deal of time to study and actually know what they are talking about i.e., Jack Daniels. That's what you are suppose to do. The fact that you doubt him and then seek an answer on a message board is tragic.
