Are there any good sites that exist to track or log miles so that I could correspond with people in another city or if my kids are gone over break or just a good site that enter data that will allow some solid analytics.

I use a notebook.
the mapmyrun app is great
running2win is pretty good. My whole college team uses it.
I was thinking something that basically would allow kids to log miles. Mapmyrun is great if I've got a gps watch or the app on my phone.
Strava
I use the captain's log.
I second running2win.com. You can create a private team and have all your kids part of it. Then you can look at each day's workouts.

Finalsurge is awesome
Excell or google docs are my favorite. You can customize it to fit exactly what you need.
Final Surge is amazing if you want to shell out $250 to run a team on there..
