Is this the end of American distance running as we know it?

Thee OP was clearly referring to the male and female champion douche.
How do we know it?
Same discussion, different year.
This isn't really a surprise. The last time American-born runners won both the men's and women's races was 2003, and that was two generational talents -- Dathan Ritzenhein and Shalane Flanagan.
Has it really been that long?

You are correct. No foreigner has ever won an NCAA X-C title before.
Please...... This has been discussed for 40 years. But 20 years ago and before, the best foreign runners in the world showed up at American Colleges. That isn't the case anymore with age limits and more importantly professional track.
We ran against Rono, Kimombwa, Kemeto, Waigwa, Niambui, Kamau, Motswheretow, Musoki, Barrie, etc. etc. etc.
Was eye opening as a just turned 18 year old toeing the line at NCAAs against Rono, soon to be holder of 4 word records.
Try harder. In 1990 Sonja O'Sullivan and Jonah Koech were two foreign-born athletes who won individual titles. So, either American distance running as we know it ended less than a decade after the women's XC championship race started, or this has always been normal.Try harder.
