I can't always do it; most often it happens after I've been sitting for awhile. It doesn't hurt. Actually it feels rather satisfying. Is this normal? Harmful? This is a relatively new superpower for me.

Yes, I can. It's really cracks after I do planks. I no longer go to my chiropractor. I save $120 a month.
Makes sense - You're applying a rotational force to the pelvis via the glutes. I can crack my sacrum by squeezing my abductors, so similar function.

You guys are amazing. I guess with elite realms of fitness there is more wondrous body " cracking" satisfaction to be had. In peak shape, I can get neck cracks, jaw cracks, cranial release, etc through natural moment. Hand aided and auto ankle (rotating and interior) ankle crackin'. Toe cracking via crunching and fingered twisting. Elbow extension cracking. Knee cracking. "Hip cracking" from abductor movement. These are not precise anatomical names cause a lot of the time I've no idea where the crack pop emanates from. Soo good. Upper torso rotation produced crack. Lateral dorsiflexor crackin. Push-up induced back crackin.
I wouldn't skip a chiropractor tho. Be proud as you might, the very Best ones can crack you wondrous satisfying ways.
yes and I do it way too often now
Yes, but I think it's actually the SI that's moving. Quite a relief. More likely with increased mileage.
i do this often
every since I had a snowboarding accident years ago, I can crack my coccyx by squeezing my glutes. don't know how good it is for me, but it feels great drives my wife crazy cause it is a loud pop

I can too, but only after having two stress fractures in the area.
Hi! I'm not sure how long this has been posted, but I just found this because of curiosity whether some people were also able to do the same thing---cracking their lower backs~ It's funny because this was actually the only one so far that elaborated so well on the exact way of cracking the lower back hahaha that's how I do mine! I don't know, so far this has only been the post that I totally understand.
I kind of get how satisfying it is! But, talking about whether this thing is normal or not, I'm kind of scared about the side effects if I continue doing so, which is also another reason why I started searching for it.Sometimes, I don't even do it on purpose.
I can. I think it's the beginning of really bad arthritis and joint damage though. Relieving at the moment.. but I think the cause of some pain. Do you have Pain? Do you crack easily everywhere else?

No but I can crack a pecan that way...
Uhh, ever heard of Suzy Favor Hamilton?
Yes, I can. Not sure it's my lower back or my SI joint. But I definitely get a loud sound in that general area by doing it.

I do. Knees and wrists in particular.
I started being able to do this after I gave birth to my sons. In addition, I can no longer run for long due to intense pain in the exact area. I think pregnancy caused some pelvic movement. I had to see a chiropractor regularly during the end of my last pregnancy due to the pain. Don’t mean to be negative, but I don’t think this is a good thing... The pain is getting worse over time.
Welp, so much for thinking I was unique in some way. I can do this occasionally as well. Feels really low, like the coccyx I think. Very satisfying when it pops.
I knew a hooker in Portland who charged extra for that.
Hi you might have a connective tissue disorder that causes laxity within your joints increasing air capsule size. You should look into this especially if you joint popping is associated with loose or hypermobile joints.
Maybe those are farts you're squeezing out.
