Sry, English isn't my mother tongue. I don't know if this should be an insult to my really sound advice.
I wanted to say that the difference between 2:30 and sub 2:25 is MUCH MUCH bigger than e.g. 2:35 >> 2:30 because IMHO 2:24 is a time most people are getting the first time problems with their speed. 2:30 is 3:33'/K. That's not that fast. 2:24 is 3:24/25 per K - and that is the range where it gets MUCH more important to train intelligently because speed suddenly becomes a huge factor.
A second per 100 meters in this range really is a difference. 20, 21 or 22 seconds per 100 meters is a world of a difference. Whereas a second per 100 meters when you run 7 or 8 minute miles isn't that crazy.
I hope my point became clear: IF you want to break 2:25 - try to get your 5, 10 and HM times down because his HS times do NOT indicate that much speed for me.
