Hello, I am a new distance coach for winter track for the High School I work at and I have a question: How much time should I spend to reintroduce the runners to their mileage after having taken 2 weeks off from cross country? Unfortunately 3 weeks after practice starts the first meet occurs. This doesn't leave me much time to allow for slow adaptation back to the miles and to add some longer quality workouts (working on aerobic endurance). Any suggestions on how to handle this?
