Mary Keitany over Sumgong with Sara Moreira achieving an awesome third.
A fantastic finish in the women's race. Sumgong opened up a lead of about five meters during mile 26, but Keitany battled back and had a lead of a few strides entering the home stretch. Sumgong couldn't respond at the end and Keitany won in 2:25:03 unofficially.
MARY KEITANY IS YOUR 2014 TCS NYC MARATHON CHAMPION IN 2:25:03.
That's a great time given the conditions. Sumgong was second in 2:25:05.
Sara Moreira of Porgual also put together a fantastic debut, finishing third in 2:25:59.
Kara could go over 2:40 if she slows down any more.
Why won't ESPN be honest. The tv feed is out. They won't admit it. We are missing the action.
4:35 23rd mile. Still Desisa and Kipsang Wow..

2:40 would be a Boston qualifier
Keitany's second half was an unofficial 1:11:23. Great job being patient by her considering she went out in 1:07 last time she ran in NYC.
is the camera broken on the men?! Where is the race!,,,,,
Strike that, she seems to be picking it back up.
Looks like 2:36 or 2:37

Once again we missed the men's break.
I understand that they need to cover the women's finish but it's been going on for 15 mins now...

Has ESPN lost the portable camera with Paula Radcliffe on it?
Is she flying around on it like a quidditch stick?
Coverage is horrendous as usual

This is the worst marathon coverage I have ever seen. Plain and simple.
Desi 6th. Worked her way back up, nicely.
Des getting scalps at the end. 5th place
Terrible coverage of the mens race overall so far.
Desisa and Kipsang are still battling. We saw a picture of them for 1 second before it froze again.
An epic race with sub 440 mile after sub 4:40 mile and ESPN can't even get it right. How come when I was a kid in early 1980s I remember watching these races on tv with no problems.???
