I live in an area that requires a permit to park on the street for two hours or more. Residents can get 2-week passes, and since I don't have access to a driveway or garage, I use those passes to park on the street in my neighborhood.
The fine print on the passes states that one must not scratch off more than fourteen consecutive days or a citation will be issued (the passes are like lottery scratchers).
Well, I've received two parking tickets recently for "failing" to scratch off exactly fourteen consecutive days. One one permit, I scratched off just three days. On the other permit, I scratched off two, skipped some days when I was out of town, and then scratched off twelve other consecutive days. In neither case did I exceed the maximum, and nowhere on the permit does it mandate any kind of minimum, or have any kind of stipulation that the days must be consecutive, so I appealed the ticket...and lost!
I can't believe it. I can appeal one more time, but I want my argument to be airtight so I'm asking the great legal minds of LRC for advice.
Please help!!! These things are expensive and I truly believe I'm in the right.
