The Mt. SAC Invitational has gone on for 67 years. Below is a link to the all time top individual performances and all time team times on the Mt. SAC course (not just at the Mt. SAC Invite). Something seems crazy to me:
22 of 22 of the all time top individual girl performances occurred in the year 2000 or after.
25 of 26 of the all time top individual boy performances occurred in the year 2000 or after (Jeff Nelson in 1978 is the lone runner on the list for boys or girls before the year 2000), and if I'm correct, he was the CA state record holder in the 3200 before German F, and I believe is still #2.
11 of 11 of the all time girls team times occurred in the year 2007 or after.
13 of 13 of the all time boys team times occurred in the year 2005 of after.

How is this possible? This course had to have been the same since at least 1978, but I'm assuming even longer than that. What I would like to know is the following:
- Why is everyone so much faster now than before the year 2000? Because of the Internet? Any other ideas? These numbers seem ridiculous to me. The course was around since before 1950, and only one person in 50+ years makes the all time list?
