Can anyone direct me to a discussion or research on how the duration of a run influences testosterone and cortisol?
I have hypothyroidism (Hashimoto), and it appears that my t-levels further decrease and my cortisol levels further increase in periods with more longer runs (2+ hours).
I've read on strength-training boards that t-levels decrease and cortisol levels increase one hour after intense training in the gym..? I've also noted that Kenyan and Ethiopian runners typically do runs of 1 hour in duration (with the exception of a weekly long run)..?
Any thoughts are much appreciated.
Thanks.
