I would be very greatful because I am struggling on what to run this winter to put up good times in my freshman year outdoor track.

Build a base, then when the season starts start doing intervals, then near championship phase peak. Anyone else wanna try?
Build up your endurance to as high a level as you possibly can WITHOUT sacrificing more than a small percentage of your top end sprinting speed. This means running lots of miles, and maintaining your sprint form/power by doing short sprints, hill sprints and weight room work a few times a week.
interval training is just icing on the cake to put it all together when you are close to racing season. The real work is done before this.
This is why middle distance training is the most fun, because you get to work on so many different facets of running training.
So if I am right then I should run a lot of easy runs with about 1-2 tempo runs a week and a long run and 2 weight room sessions and 2-3 short sprint and 1 hill repeats... Am I missing anything?? Am I ready to make my schedule??
