It must have been a fun race?

She doesn't have that "team" environment to promoter her performance post college. She has to do most her workouts alone and is having trouble adjusting to the real world. Wondering how I know? I know her.
Prove it, pretzel boy.
Debut what? Has she never done a 5K?

She probably has better people to train with in Boston than in college.

14:54 for 5000, 4th best American ever.

My bad Rhines 6th best American ever at 5000 also top 10 on USA list at 3000 and 10000.
http://www.trackandfieldnews.com/index.php/tafn-lists?list_id=10&sex_id=W&yyear=2008New balance has really hyped this young lady.
Given her a private coach basically and signed Natosha Rogers and I believe Cory MCGEe is also there? Thought it made zero sense Cory signed on just because they're such different athletes. New Balance must be paying her big bucks.
It's a slow course anyway, but she looked out of shape in the race.
Rust buster. All part of the long buildup for 2015 and 2016.
Jen Rhines is also 40 or 41.
I was there, she seemed to handle the first 1.5 miles very well, and she had a relatively strong last 600m after the final loop around the starting field. It is by no means an easy course, and seeing as it was her debut, there are going to be bigger and better things to come from her in the future
1. not a tough course, but it is long. 5k,6k,8k,10k at FP all have common starts and finishes, they are not exact distances. It is well known that the 5k is a touch long, 8k a touch short.
2. first race in a long time and an xc race - my guess is most of her work is not done on grass these days as it would have been previous falls.
3. beat by good competition as has been said. I would guess she would beat all 3 on the track easily, but its early.

I'm a local boston runner. I can run a 11s flying 100m in basketball shoes (hand timed). I can bench press 200lbs and have been known to put up some impressive lunge mile times (sub 1hr). I will be her workout partner. Send me those digits.
It's not a great result for her, even if it is a rust buster, but it's not terrible. She actually came in 4th in the race, which is pretty crazy considering most people thought she would run away with it. Still, tough course, hasn't raced in some time, decent competition. You would think with the stress of having to attend classes at Dartmouth removed, she would be able to really flourish in this environment.
Rhines beat her.
Abbey Dags will be fine.

So is Lagat.
11 seconds from first, 1 second from 2nd. Solid rust-buster.

Yeah, but according to these idiots, it's normal for a 23 yr old multi-time NCAA Champion to lose to her.
