mfg? I train exclusively in flats and don't know what you are talking about. Anyways I run in brooks t7s, new balance 1400 v1 and v2, and streak lts. Works fine for me. I can't run right in bulky shoes. I also feel alright in the hagio, ds racer, and gel magic racer - or whatever asics calls them these days. The only thing I do that others don't is make sure I have good running socks, not the cheap crap athletic socks you could buy at dicks.
Not racing flats, but I train in the Nike Free 3.
I've exclusively run in Asics Magic Racers/Hyperspeeds since 2003.
"mfg" is an abbreviation for manufacturer.
Geez, I should have used the whole word.
Just bought the Saucony Type A6s to train in
nike streak xc 2
asics blazing fast
I like the Saucony a6

Headcase.
I agree the NB 1400 and Brooks T7 are great, though.
Would anyone here mind explaining how they transitioned from traditional trainers to flats?
Brooks T7 and Mizuno Hitogami.

Why would you want to?
I actually thought you meant "M0therfvcking Gear." No joke.

Because running in high heeled pillows do nothing to prevent injuries, only promote them.
Ouch

He didn't mention any injuries.
Yes, full time in flats. Generally 80mpw, but in the past I've gone up to 135mpw. I wear the Nike Streak LT (formerly called the Streak XC). Once in a while I'll rotate into the Adidas Adios Boost for a recovery run. I'm 44yo and 148 lbs, if that makes any difference. I went to flats 100% six years ago. Haven't had any knee problems since making the change. Have had a few issues with the posterior tibial tendon. But I find that I can tape it up and keep running and within a few days I'm fine. Initially I spent about 4 months transitioning from lighter structured trainers (eg Asics DS trainer) to the flats. Overall, it's been a very positive change for me.

Thank you. I have always trained in traditional trainers, and have continued to have IT problems. Looking to try something different rather than continue to try the same thing expecting different results.
Hello,
I train only in flats. I wear the Brooks T7. I also run only 80% of my mileage on the gold course. I don't think it could work if I ran only asphalt only. The Brooks T7 is one of the greatest shoes of all time.
If you are having it band problems, I would first look to these two things:
1) are your knees bending when your foot hits the ground?
2) are your knees inward rotating when your foot hits the ground?
Film yourself while running to answer these

Very similar for me -- I moved to the Streak XC then LT because of runner's knee. Have had posterior tibial tendon issues a couple of times, but it's been worth it to get rid of the knee problems. 147' here.
