There are plenty of African and Black European/American soccer players, but whenever you hear the fastest ones debated, the names you hear first are usually Messi, Robben, Ronaldo, Bale, etc. I'm sure there are black players among the fastest too but it's not like the black domination you would see in sprinting.

Except that does not answer the question whatsoever.
I am asking why so many of the best soccer players are white. When virtually all top sprinters are black, and so many soccer players are black, one would expect most/all of the fastest soccer players to be black. Yet most are white.
Any ideas?
Most football/soccer supporters only watch a few stars and the teams they play on(which to be fair, many of those stars are very fast). Every guy you listed plays on the three top in the world. They aren't there purely for their speed.
Raheem Sterling, Theo Walcott, Aaron Lennon, Gervinho and P-E Aubameyang off the top of my head for black players. I'm missing plenty too because these guys mostly play on top Euro teams. There could be some speed demon on Dinamo Zagreb, but only the people who watch that league will know. Plenty of talentless speed/pace merchants making a living in the sport. Adam Gemili was an example.

That is a better answer. Maybe 'fastest footballer' is like the gold glove in awards baseball - it really means the best hitters who are at least competent on the field. The fastest guys might actually be backups on shite teams like Gemili. That said with tracking technology we are starting to actually measure speed and not just guess and guys like Robben have displayed that they really are quite fast.
They are not the fastest. They are the fastest throughout the entire game. Black people would be the fastest if they only had to run up and down the field two or three times and then sit down for a half hour.

There are plenty of high school sprinters much faster than Messi and Ronaldo and plenty of good distance runners who could beat them in a 100m. The big requirements are ball skill and game knowledge. A few reasons:
1. There are more whites in the talent pipeline. You need a good infrastructure with excellent coaching to produce world class soccer players. As Africa develops, that may change.
2. Black players are fast. The Jamaican team is known for it's speed and the black players on the US team are generally fast. But neither Jamaica nor the US can develop elite soccer talent (see point #1). So the question is really "why are the fastest elite soccer players white?" and the answer is pretty much "because most of the elite soccer players in general are white."
3. Soccer demands a balanced mix of endurance and explosiveness. West African blacks have more fast-twitch muscle and have an advantage in sprints, and East African blacks have more slow-twitch muscle and an advantage in distance running. But whites are well-suited towards soccer's balanced demands.
NO WAY Messi is among the fastest.
I don't think straight ahead pure speed is the most important factor in soccer.

Wrong...during in the initial stages of the World Cups many European teams dont push themselves because they expect to make it to the elimination rounds and dont want to exert too much effort. The African teams go for broke. The Euros are easily as fast.
