Hey guys, i was wondering if you guys could recommend a neutral shoe that promotes a forefoot strike or rather is ideal for a forefoot striker. I've worn the Brooks Ghost 6 and the Altra One2 and i liked them both. I'd prefer a shoe with a less drop than the ghost and a bunch of cushioning in the forefoot. Also, i want a shoe with a flexibility and stiffness between the 2 shoes mentioned. Also, I'm 5'11 and 135 pounds. Thanks
I recommend the Nike Emperors. So light you'll feel like you're wearing nothing. The most natural way short of going barefoot to promote forefoot striking. Infinitely flexible and comes in any color you like.
Saucony Kinvara or Ride immediately come to mind. The Ride would obviously be more cushioned of the two, probably comparable to the Ghost, but with a lower heel-toe drop.
Nike Elite 7 wouldn't be bad either.

Try any of the Newton's. They all accommodate a Neutral runner and their forefoot cushioning is superior to any other brands. You'll see anywhere from 6mm to 2mm drops. My recommendation is the Distance or Gravity.
Disregard what he just said. Get the Newton Fate. If you've never run in Newtons, I certainly wouldn't put you in the Distance. Fate is an awesome, high mileage trainer.

That is my rotation. The Kinvara is pretty flex, the ride 7 is medium still but light for a trainer> think about 9.5ibs. they got the ride7 right, don't buy the ride 6.
I had been looking for a good forefoot strike shoe myself. I had been running in the Lunaracers, Kinvaras, and Hagio. I like all of those, but I decided to give Newtons a try... and I *really* like them. I also recommend the Distance or the Gravity. I tried on some of the "entry" Newtons and didn't like them that much. If you already have good form and a forefoot strike, the Distance really doesn't take much getting used to.

He said earlier that he used the Altra One2. That in itself is a more minimal shoe than any of the Newton's (save the racing flats). With Altra's zero drop there's a low chance the Distance would be too aggressive for him. His Achilles, calves, etc. should be strong enough for the Newton's.
i've run in the newton gravity before, but i just don't really like the lugs in the front of newtons because they just don't feel right to me.

I gotcha. Even though I personally have success with them, they're definitely something you either love or hate. You might want to look at the Saucony Kinvara or Mirage, Asics Gel-Lyte, Brooks PureFlow, or New Balance FreshFoam 980.
Adidas takumi would be my recommendation

Are you suggesting that forefoot striking is good form?
The GOAT runner (arguably) on the planet said he would fore-foot strike through the whole marathon if fatigue wasn't an issue preventing that.
