Is Missoula, MT a good place to find intelligent outdoorsy chicks?

I stopped in the city for an hour or so and saw lots of very good looking girls. Hard to say what they're into

By the tone of your post I think you might have trouble finding a partner regardless of location.

Stating that you don't want young/dumb girls is sort of telling. .

You're surprised to find that 21 year old girls and 29 year old PhD students might have different lifestyles, values, and interests?

And yes, I'm such a misogynist, because as we all know women in their late 20s are dying to hang out with guys in their early 20s.

I'm guessing you're young and dumb. This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about.

San Francisco is a good place to meet intellectually curious, outdoorsy people. I would assume Portland is similar, although I've never been there.

You have to be a bit careful in the liberal enclaves of the Pacific Northwest. The leftist leaning environment is conducive to females adopting a free love stance that is unfortunately accompanied by an anti-razor and anti-supportive undergarment philosophy, which is ok, if that's what you are into. Personally, I was caught a bit off guard by some discoveries that led to performance issues.

Masters, totally agree with your sentiment and desire, but the basic question is kind of lame. Obviously a major university town in Montana with grad and PhD programs is going to have its share of intellectual, outdoorsy women. I would however say that Bozeman may be an even better choice within the state, but that if you really are serious, U Washington, U Oregon or the SF or Portland area would be better than Mizzoula. Unless you are into the frozen tundra activities, you will get all 4 seasons with some serious skin exposure from the opposite sex.

Missoula is GREAT, and Bozeman too. I'd put Missoula on my top 10 list of most favorite places I've visited-really cool and beautiful community. The type of people who gravitate AND stick around are probably there for the reasons you mentioned (outdoor sports, nature, laidback, beer, liberal attitude). Agree though with the sentiment that the women up there are a little more "au naturale/free-spirited" with their bodies- not the perfect blond, makeup-ed women from the South.

Ever heard of the Brain Drain? The best ladies in that area have already left for Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Denver etc.

In that age group in Missoula you'll get the leftovers. Take your pick from mountain trash, meth addicts, &/or inbreds. The eyes are too close together, if you know what I mean, but I don't think you do, OP, because you don't sound too intelligent yourself, since you described yourself as being 'very intellectually curious.'

The correct spelling is Missoula.

Who do you think is applying to the grad programs at Missoula? It's mostly the mountain trash locals. Or possibly those who couldn't get into better colleges or those who want to major in something that is only offered at the University of Montana.

Should only take a few filler dates to get her to the grindstone in the mountains. Multiday wilderness immersion will show you real quick how much someone likes the woods and exercise, and gives plenty of time for conversation to test the intellect.

Correct, unfortunately. I meet girls all the time who say they like hiking and being in the mountains. So far almost none of them actually do, however. They end up complaining after we've been hiking only 15-20 minutes, are afraid of bugs, etc. Everyone thinks they're smarter than they are too, so most people I meet who think they're really smart end up being quite dull, or they think reading some pop science article now and then makes them an intellectual.

I was thinking more along the lines of grad students and professionals, not long time locals or undergrads. I am looking to go there for their biology program, which is actually quite good, so the statement that everyone smart leaves is likely inaccurate. I wouldn't necessarily want someone within my own department, but I was hoping there would be a significant number of bright younger women who were also fairly intelligent. I don't actually know though, which is why I came here.

You're hoping to find women in a mountain town? You know how this works, man. You can choose the mountain life, or you can choose women. I know it sucks, but that's reality.

I lived in Missoula for a few months 12 years ago. Great place. There were a lot of total bull bitche$ in town. You may find some great women in college there though. Overall a great town but it does get very cold there in the winter. Their football games were a blast. The mascot "Monte" they had in 2002 was cool as hell.

I live here and I'm 31. There are tons of attractive and "outdoorsy" girls in Missoula. All age ranges. Active people usually love this town. (winter is not that bad) People who stay here are usually smartish as the job market is the poor unless you can make your own job or you're highly skilled.

Missoula isn't really a mountain town. It's a college town with a major medical center, the only Law school, pharmacy program, and PT program in the state. You'll be just fine.
