3 scenarios; all scenarios involve a mechanical \"rabbit\" running at a steady pace in lane 1 and you will earn $1000 per \"segment\" for which you remain ahead of the rabbit. The rules say you must assume the lead within the first 50 meters and you\'re done when passed by the rabbit at any point. Pick the scenario that maximizes your expected earnings.
Scenario 1: Rabbit runs 60 seconds per 400m and a segment is 100m. So if you can run a 1:59 800m, you would get $8000, etc.
Scenario 2: Slower rabbit - 75 seconds per 400m but a segment is now 400m. So if you\'re a 4:59 miler, you get $4000, a 9:59 two-miler $8000, etc.
Scenario 3: Rabbit does 90-second laps but a segment is 1600m. So if you\'re a low 37 10K runner, you\'re likely looking at $6000.
Which would you choose?
