Mine is Rod Dixon.
Mine is Rod Dixon.
Bill Rodgers.
Bill Rodgers is a good one. He's second on my list.
Joan Benoit Samuelson
Steve Ovett.
GEB if he's clean, but if he's been fooling me i'd like to see his ass thrown in jail
Whoever the guy was that was running the (96) U.S. Olympic marathon trials, and was puking his guts out on tv while securing a spot in the games. I swear he didn't miss a step. Just turned his head to the side and down to let it out but kept pace. Something Morris I think? I joined my HS cross country team that summer. That was inspiring.
RUPP, RUPP, RUUUUUUUUPP!!!!!
Alan Webb.

Buddy Edelen, Paul Tergat, can't quite make my mind up. But Dixon is also a good pick.
1) Rupp
2) Shorter
3) Symmonds
Sammy Wanjiru is definitely up there. It's a shame the world will never know what he could've run...
I like Pre most of all.
That would be Haile Gebrselassie.
Ran for records.
Ran for championships.
Ran forever.
And had quite the range and always looked like he enjoyed it.
Craig Mottram
It's Pat Porter for me. I love how a guy who was slower than me in high school went on to have such an amazing running career. He died way too young. :-(
On the women's side it's Abbey D'Agostino. Her "awe shucks" personality is just so endearing.
Edwin Moses
Joan Benoit Samuelson, by a lot.
a pioneer, a gold medalist, tough as freaking nails, and best of all, never quit. Still races at a world class level in the age groups.
And kind and generous.
