I've been thinking about using the "Advanced Plan" in the Hansons Marathon Method book. I see that the duration of the plan is 18 weeks. I actually have more time than 18 weeks until my planned marathon. Does anyone have any ideas on how to best extend the Advanced Plan to 24 weeks?
Should I simply work on base training for the extra six weeks? Incorporate more "speed" or "strength" workouts? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
