I like to consume something small 45 - 60 minutes prior. Maybe like 1/2 a cliff bar and 10 oz of gatorade.
one piece of wheat bread with honey about 2 hours before.
Cliff bar and Vitamin Water about an hour and a half before.
1 1/2 hours before warm up for race usually oatmeal with a banana.
Oatmeal and some beef jerky 2 hours before. 2 Cups of Coffee.
Bread with peanut butter and a banana. Did it once and had an awesome race, so I've been doing it since, because routine makes me feel good going into a race.
And mine's two hours before the race.
Nothing for me
depends how early the race is. if before 9:30 approximately, i will most likely go on an empty stomach, aside from my favorite sports drink mix at most half an hour before the race. For a race I had at 11 last weekend, I went with oatmeal at 7:30 and black coffee (if not for the race, I'd add milk). Bottom line is I want all my food already digested when the start gun goes off.
