I'm a high school runner excited about a promising indoor season. I've been running xc for 2 years now and this year have run into a lot of injuries. Next week is my state meet course, it has a lot of hills. My injuries have consisted of shin splints, a foot injury due to tight calves, a strained hamstring, and a weak gluteus. I have fixed all of these problems except the last one, the weak gluteus. My problem with having a weak butt will get in the way of states if I want to move onto divisionals. I'm just wondering is there anything I can do this late into the season? Oh, and I mentioned the promising indoor season because these injuries have made me thought about how well I can do in the 600m. I hope to run sub 1:23, current PR's are 51.5 relay 4 by 400, and 2:04 800. I could have been 2 even but the race, I wanted to go sub 2 I was having a bad race day. If you think it's hopeless to fix my weakness on hills some advice on 600m training for after xc would be great! Thank you.
