i know there are many different "pace camps" on this board; i happen to believe there should be clear easier days that follow hard days (workouts). i'm struggling to figure out the pacing on easier days though.
my initial thought was to "listen to the body" and go out there and just run what feels comfortable. interestingly enough, i've found that while a particular pace might feel comfortable, it often HURTS more and tends not to lead to good recovery from a workout.
when i push it a bit harder on those easier days, start running a pace the body initially doesn't exactly react well too, i find that i'm HURTING less, and often that i'm recovering better.
i do, unfortunately, feel on the cusp of injury well more than i wish. i haven't stuck to any particular plan based on the highly anecdotal experiences listed above. it seems slightly counter-intuitive that runner faster than SEEMS comfortable will lead to better recovery, but i'm not against believing it to be true. maybe you CAN run too easily... i just want to tap into other folks experiences here and find a plan to stick to for a couple of months.
