I purchased a pair of Air Pegasus 30 shoes over the summer to replace my old Air Pegasus 29 shoes. After purchasing the shoes, I removed my Polysorb by Spenco insoles and discovered that they were falling apart, so I bought new insoles. Sports Authority did not carry Polysorb, so I bought a pair of Sofsole insoles instead.
Unfortunately, I gradually started experiencing pain in my right heel and have pulled my right calf muscle on two different occasions, which I had not done once during my previous 25 years of running.
I'm not certain, but the Sofsole insoles appear to be slightly less thick that the Polysorb ones were, so I am wondering if that is the problem. Alternatively, I noticed on the Runners World website that the Air Pegasus 30 have a 13.8 mm drop from the heel to the forefoot, which is slightly larger than the drop on older versions of the Air Pegasus.
Has anyone else had similar issues or can offer advice?
