This past cross country season has been pretty rough for me. I'm 16, junior in high school. My times have dropped significantly compared to last year even after a good track season (I do mid in track though not long). My legs are always tired a mile into the reason and I sort of die off. I looked it up and people with the same symptoms ended up having iron deficiencies. I don't want that, so I went to my doctor. I told her how I've been feeling so she tested by hemoglobin. It came back as 12.7 g/dl. Is that okay? She said this was normal. I told her I still wanted to get my ferritin levels checked, but she wouldn't let me. I don't know what to do because there's no other explanation and my dad is siding with the doctor. She said I can take iron supplements if I want (even though she didn't really specify anything), but she doesn't think I'm anemic and said that my ferritin is fine since my hemoglobin is normal. I don't know what to do now, any suggestions?
