At the Richland Invitational in Washington, Tanner Anderson ran a 14:36 to set the course record (previous was 14:44 by Kai Wilmot, 2nd best was 14:47 Joe Hardy) on the 5k course. 2nd and 3rd place was 15:26 and 15:27.
It looks like Tanner is ready to defend his state title against John Dressel and aiming to repeat his teammate's success at NXN with a national title.
On top of all this, the course which is usually a fast course where runners set season best times, seemed to run unusually slow. Maybe the field was deeper last year (Watchout can jump in on this), but looking at places, it seemed as though it was anywhere from 20-30 seconds slower than last year.
