What crime is it to run from cops?
Some coaches will care others won't. There is no reason to tell a coach about it unless they specifically ask.

You don't have a criminal record for "unknowingly running from the police thinking they were kids that my friends were just running from". That is not a criminal offense. That is your version of what happened. If you have a criminal record the judge/jury didn't find your story believable.
Most colleges will ask on the application whether or not you've been convicted of a felony. Recruiters will look up your name in Google, but unless it was published on a local news website or something I doubt they would find a misdemeanor.

If you run 4:16 and 9:07 how did you get caught by fat cops?

So were the cops on foot? I find it hard to believe any fat, donut munching cop can run faster than 4.16 mile pace. And I guess all your friends must be sub-4.16 mile guys, otherwise the cops would have caught one of them rather than you.
2/10
You're leaving out the part of the story that explains why the cops were chasing you in the first place.

Resisting arrest without violence and/or fleeing an eluding depending on the state (law school dropout here).
