I need some advice on shoes for road racing. I'm pretty big (6 ,170)and race in the Adios 2. I mostly run half marathons in the 1:18-1:20 range.
I'm wondering if the adios 2 is too light for my weight and if using a light weight trainer instead I could run faster and with less trauma especially after 10 miles. Sometimes I have the feeling that my stride is different than in training. Not as smooth and powerful.
It sometimes feels like I'm running barefoot on tarmac in a bad way. Not that good feeling of barefoot running on grass.
I don't want to mess up my next race running a minute slower by mistakenly using a heavier shoe. Maybe I'm just thinking too much. Maybe not.
Please share your experiences considering this questions.
