That's my boy Legs Jackson! Maaannnn, we used to kick it down next to the school yard and play hoop. On the way home, we would always pick up a chocolate soda from the drug store.
Did a cool down after a race once. Needless to say never did it again.

That ain't your boy Legs Jackson. But he did play some hoops, and if his counting is correct, scored with over 20,000 women.
I used to before I bought "real" running shoes. To tell you the truth, people thought I was crazy for doing so, but it was fine except for the lack of space in the toe box. As a matter of fact, running shoes, with the exception of flats and the Nike Free 3.0 v4 and v5, never felt quite right to me.
I have flat feet and never once had a running injury until I ran in motion control shoes. I joined the military and was told to buy the right shoes for my feet. I got bouts of achilles tendonitis, peroneal tendonitis, and PF. It was until I got rid of the motion control shoes and went with flats that it went away.
My first running shoes were adidas Gazelle.
Not since 1973

I did for a little less than two weeks (in the ProKeds knockoff of them) when I was in sixth grade and "training" for a 10k that I signed up for because a couple of Catholic School kids in my neighborhood were doing it.
My dad took me out the day before the race and bought a pair of Brooks for me from a local hole-in-the-wall overstock shoe store. I think they were the Vantage or Villanova. This was 1980.
