Hello all,
I am a relatively young runner (17), and I'm at a bit of a crossroads. XC season is ending soon, and I won't be doing track/field (other commitments, etc.).
I've trained for the last 4 months after a two year break, and so far I've run a 20:11 5K season PR (All Time PR 19:40 my freshman year). I've been thinking about continuing my training by myself and entering races after the season ends, but I don't know if it's worth the time commitment. I do enjoy running, but at the same time I want to be able to run fast. It feels like these last few years all I've been doing is hovering around the 20's with no real progress.
What I'm seeking advice on, is if I continue training by myself, will I see progress into the 18:00's and 17:00's? I don't want to run my heart out to find that I only improve a second each week, and I don't want to be stuck running 20:00's.
Thanks
