dude that is a sick quadruple.
in HS i ran the 4x8, 2 mile, mile, and anchored 4x4 every track meet (except state) my junior and senior years (all 1 day meets). small-town school in the midwest so coaches thought nothing of it & knew jack about distance running/training but (neither did i at the time so i saw no problem with it either hahaha!). good thing i was only running ~15 mpw.
junior year at districts went something like:
4x8: 2:05, 3rd as team (just missed state Q)
2mile: 10:20 PR,3rd (state Q)
mile: 4:41 PR, 2nd (state Q)
4x4: 50.X, 2nd (outkicked 2 guys the last 100m to nab the state Q spot)
granted the distance times were weak, but i was a football/basketball guy with no prior track/distance running experience. that 4x4 is still probably the coolest thing i've ever experienced in athletics.
