I am trying to decide whether to try to make a career in a lab science field or a more outdoor science field. From what I've found doing job searches, most positions related to outdoor science positions mainly just care about experience, and a master's degree is basically just considered two years of experience. Some of these jobs pay $60k/year, and they just say "must have five years experience." Whereas most lab positions I've seen have stated a higher degree, either an MS or PhD, is required along with experience suggesting that even if I had 10 years of experience but no higher degree they would not hire me. I'm young and inexperienced though, so I thought I'd come to letsrun to ask.
