I would make him or her drop out and perform manual labour. Preferably something back breaking and involving subsistence farming.While he or she is doing that, they can run...perhaps an hour a day, maybe more. Do that for a few years, until maybe age 25 or 26. Not on Sundays though. On Sundays, they will rest and spend time with their family.When they hit 25 or 26, enter them in some local short races to sharpen them up.Then enter them in a marathon.
