Let me be clear: my PRs are improving and improving, my mileage is going up and up, and I am running the best I have ever run in my life
But I am starting to get worn down
Running 10-12x per week, 5AM and 3PM
Going to bed at 8 because I am genuinely tired and need to recover
Eating an insane anount of food, to the point where I am getting sick of eating
Making sure the food I eat 6/7 days is super healthy
Always making sure I drink at least a gallon of water every day
Stretching after runs and icing soreness
It is just getting to the point where my entire focus is on running. Yes I am performing well but "burning out" might be a good term here
Is there a way for me to beat this and keep improving? I feel like every runner hits this point and how the good runners are made is the seperation from the others by manning up and continuing to push it
After this season I am not sure about running competitively anymore. I am only 18 a freshman in college. I kind of want to enjoy other things. Get a girlfriend, do another hobby, stop going to strenes and obsessing on fitness (I am known to take things to extremes)
TL;DR
I am setting PRs but training 2x a day, strictly monitoring my diet, getting to bed early, no social life besides my running circle because of training, etc is getting to be a lot. Can I adjust my focus and continue my PR spree or just take time off of running?
