So now that the 2:03 barrier has been broken, do any of you now believe that Geoffrey Mutai's 2:03:02 at Boston was legit? Should it have been ratified as a marathon WR instead of a WB?

No
I was in Boston that day - the wind was very strong and the run was most definitely wind-aided.
Saying that, Boston runs two to three minutes slower than some other courses (the ones that are flat with smooth road surfaces).
Absolutely should've been a World Record. I ran that day and did not PR. Total joke those thinking the wind helped out, but whatever helps the frail of mind, even Renato Canova agrees that Boston is legit. Go ask Bill Rodgers if Boston is a legit course.. or Salazar or my coach who PR'd at Boston.

The fact that Ryan Hall is on that list indicates that Boston '11 was not legit for record purposes.
Why? Ryan Hall is America's best, placed 10th at the Olympic Marathon and ran 2:06 in London prior to this race. You don't think America's best would be Top 30 in the world? Of course this country would produce one.
Boston '11 is no different than Boston of any other year.
Then if you are going to play this game, I want you to SUBTRACT my 2:21 from a day of 72-degrees and 14mph headwind.
Did I run my 2:15 that day?? Can I count it as 2:15 or 2:21?
Boston 2011 was wind aided. Do you have a problem understanding that?
Wind-aided according to who? I ran it, you did not.
You cannot have a wind-aided marathon. Did they provide a time adjustment for the hills? Or how about the heat?

Interesting how only places 1-5 seem to outperform their PR's, with Mutai the most. Of the top women, only Davila significantly improved her PR. It's almost as if the wind selectively helped those men who made the breakaway at about 3/4 of the way in.
A Red herring and circular reasoning sandwich.
In every marathon, with wind or not, athletes blow up. Had it not been for the wind the times by those who didn't set PRs today would have been 3-4 minutes slower. What aren't you getting about the concept of a strong wind at your back?
I don't know what more ridiculous - people thinking that the wind wasn't responsible for the fast times or people like me responding to idiots who think that way.
And yes, I called you an idiot. Anyone who thinks that the wind wasn't responsible for the fast times is an idiot.

Now that the 2:03 barrier has been broken, Mutai's 2:03:02 seems more possible than it did in 2011 when no other person had run that fast before. I think people were searching for a way to comprehend it. That is not the case anymore!
P.S. Diego Estrada ran for Mexico when he could have run for the U.S. because he wanted an easier path to the olympics. Just sayin.
Oh, right, because they are the end-all, be-all, right? Too bad when Mosop and Mutai where interviewed they didn't claim the wind for their fast times. I trust the athlete, not the arm chair quarterbacks in JK, malmo, and Dederian, who has his PR at Boston.
Renato Canova shut them up big time, thus his list. You cannot "wind-aid" a marathon.

Have you ever done a point to point run with the wind at your back?
So you mean to tell me, that if you run in a single direction with a wind at your back, you will run the same as if there was no wind? Running into a wind takes more energy, therefore running with a wind takes less. Learn something kiddo

Yeah the wind just magically pushes me exactly at my back at all times, especially when I'm on the road. It never pushes from the side at all, it's weird how it knows that when I'm on the road it should push my back.
So you've never experienced a tailwind.

I also find it strange how the wind will often blow in the same direction for a significant period of time. Clearly an indication of sentience.

So did Kimetto did not have any tailwind at all today?
Did he run on an indoor track to get his WR today?
Please google the course map for Berlin. It is not a point to point course. It is roughly a loop. Therefore, any wind will provide roughly an equal aid and hindrance. By comparison, the Boston Marathon is a point to point course. It is possible to have a tailwind pretty much the whole way. This tailwind will sort of push the runners.
