Say I already have a collection of high quality digital photos and have decided to try and make some money from them by selling post cards or something similar. How much does it really cost to create these on a local scale (maybe within a 200 mile radius of here). Maybe produce 1000 post cards in total or something. Anyone done this?
Don't bother. People will scan your postcard and post the picture online for free. You'll lose your investment.
I think it's a great idea but I also think its 1955.
You can get someplace like Vistaprint to create the postcard for about 7 - 9 cents each, but you need to order 250-500 of EACH one to get that price. So say you have a dozen nice shots and you get your pile of 6000 postcards for $500, where are you going to sell them (and who buys postcards anymore?).
