Or any Olympic sprinter? Would they smash every distance record?

Good question, No way though. They don't have the body type and aerobic capacity that distance runners have. Usain Bolt is 6'5, 190lbs.
Im interested to see what somebody like Bolt could do in a a 400 or even an 800.

When Bolt was in 9.58, 19.19 shape
400 - Low 44s (remember he ran a 30.97 in 2010)
800 - 1:55?
As far as I know Bolt's 400 PR is 45.28 Kingston May 5,2007.

He'd probably be fast.
If he could maintain 10 second 100m segments then he could run roughly 70 minutes for the marathon.
I bet they could compete well up to 800m. ~1:42 But I have no evidence to back up this idea.
This is assuming the training puts them into a body type like Rodisha's. Combining their raw speed and 100mpw, that body type should be attainable. But again I have no idea.
What about real distance events? What is Usain Bolt potential at the marathon?
Or more interestingly, how long, from now on, would it take him to break the following marathon times:
4:00 hours --- right now?
3:30 --- right now as well?
3:00 --- some training? how long?
2:45 --- possible? how long?
2:30 --- ???
2:15 --- I don't think so ever
So?
First of all, bolt is too lazy and shiftless to do anything that lasts for more than a few seconds. Second, with the best NOPe dope, if he had a lobotomy, bolt could maybe do a 2:50 marathon after years of 100 mile weeks.

You say this on every thread regarding Bolt's abilities at longer distance. We get it. Black people are lazy. How cute.
Lazy or not doesn't matter. We're talking in the hypothetical that it'd train appropriately. Whatever that means.
How long would it take him to get to sub 3 shape? sub 245 or less?? Any documented case of sprinter (post retirement) making the switch?
Laurent Jalabert and Lance Armstrong went 2:45ish, and both are from pure aerobic events. If they had trained for it as main event, there is no doubt 2:30 falls, if not 2:20.
For a pure sprinter I have no idea but I'm interested in knowing more.

Andreas Berger (

He wanted to go Sub4 and ended up with 2:07 and 2:40 splits (not total!). By the time of his first Marathon he was 52 and retired from sprinting 20 years before after getting banned for Doping in 93.

LA benefited from years of drugs and was likely still taking them (at least testosterone) while training for NYCM.
Laurant Jalabert was a heavy drug user as well.
Just saying.

Yeah but it is still quite impressive how such crazy good aerobic athletes can "only" run a 2:45, doped or not. That shows how amazingly specific running is.
Granted I say "only" 2:45 but I will never be there. I'm far slower, but again I did not win TdF either.

Indeed. The feet and calf muscles need to get used to lots of running and that takes a while.
I like how people on here say any healthy male can run a sub 5 mile or 15:30 5k but Bolt could only manage 2:45 for a marathon.

Good old Roddy

Why do you hate black people so much? Not all blacks are lazy and shiftless, but Bolt certainly is.
I think if he trained for an 800, 1:50 would be his big target.
