I was at the OSU Jamboree and noticed guys running 25:10-25:30 who run 29:30's for 10k on the track. Is the course really that hard?

awful competition.
ok state and that is completely it.
very disappointing.
They have an up-hill start. Then it flat and fast for a mile. As soon as the first mile is over you go through wood chips that are a few inches thick. If your spike gets caught in the wood chip it pretty much stays there the whole race. Besides that wood chips make a very spongy feel when pushing off, a soft push-off slows down the force of acceleration.
then holy crap, the hills.
yes the course is pretty hard.
