I am after a career in marketing management.
I have been doing a job search for about 1 month since finishing a contract with another employer.
I have a generalist degree (economics) and have some aspect of marketing in my job history (including owning my own very small business) but nothing official and no official marketing job titles.
So far it seems the only "marketing" jobs I can get are fluffy sales type things like "sales and marketing coordinator" and not solid marketing positions in market research, brand management etc.
So my question is: Do I take one of these low paying sales jobs in hopes that the overlap between sales and marketing will build up enough experience to make me a better candidate for a real marketing position OR do I go back to do a graduate diploma in marketing management?
I also don't like sales.
